Inclusive Education

Leading Black inclusion in the UK

Why It Is Important

A safe and fair environment is important for all of our children to learn and grow, currently our schools are not equipped to deliver this for every child in the UK.

Racial Bullying

%

60% UK school staff reported they had witnessed racial bullying (Diana Award, 2017).

Negative Impact

%

Experiencing racist bullying can have a negative impact in students, affecting their relationships with others and undermining their mental health and confidence (CRER, respectme, 2019).

Unfair Treatment

%

62% BME teachers do not believe that schools treated BME pupils fairly (Runnymede Trust, 2017).

Teachers Not Prepared

%

Research has also shown that teachers are not well prepared to teach diverse students (Bhopal and Rhamie, 2014).

A safe and fair environment is important for all of our children to learn and grow, currently our schools are not equipped to deliver this for every child in the UK.
